Durham, NC . . . Caddell Communications participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) annual Light the Night Walk and raised a total of $2,075, announced Susan L. Caddell, president of Caddell Communications.

“As a small firm, you wonder if you can make a difference,” Caddell said. “By raising more than $2,000, we believe we made a difference in this fight.”

The walk was held on Thursday, September 20th in downtown Durham at the American Tobacco Campus where over 500 cancer survivors and supporters walked in honor or memory of those affected by blood cancers. Caddell Communications’ account leader, Laura Carter, served as this year’s team captain. Joining her on the team were Susan Caddell, Bobby Caddell, Tecca Wright, Courtney Phillips, Jackie Young, and Kathy Young. Carter also participated in the opening ceremony by reading a litany poem describing how the spirits of those who have passed remain with those left behind.

According to Liz Miller, special events campaign coordinator for LLS, “We are glad Caddell Communications became involved in Light the Night and we are thankful for the funds this team raised for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Team Caddell walked in memory of Laura’s mom and Susan’s friend, Jeanne Carter. We know this team understands the importance of what we are doing—the research and the patient programs—because they have experienced a loss from leukemia. Laura and her mom are reminders to us of why what we do matters.”

This year, Durham Light the Night Walk participants raised more than nearly $100,000. Funds will support lifesaving research and will provide help and hope to thousands of families dealing with blood diseases such as leukemia.
